Understanding Online Credit Card Offers

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

Credit cards have come a long way since the term ‘credit card’ was originally used in an 1887 sci-fi novel . As far back as the late 1880s, consumers and merchants entered into basic credit arrangements using credit coins and charge plates to transact.
In the early 1900s oil companies and department stores issued their own proprietary cards that were only accepted at that business. Beginning with post WWII, the first pro-type bank cards appeared.

Credit cards, popularly known as “plastic money”, have become an easy, convenient and safe way of making purchases in almost every circumstance.

Today, people all around the world use “plastic money” on a daily basis. In fact, it seems that it has become a necessary part of everyday life. Compared to cash and checks, credit cards allow consumers to purchase goods and services from around the globe and on the Internet with enhanced buyer protection. Credit cards and debit cards have become the most common forms of payment and are essential when placing orders online or over the phone.

With the recent changes in the economy and new regulations, it may seem that it is becoming harder to qualify for a credit card, especially for people with damaged credit.

Even with credit problems you can still obtain a secured credit card. With a secured credit card, also called a prepaid card, you “load” your card with a prepaid amount of money. Prepaid credit cards are in essence no more than debit cards. To obtain one, you simply open an account with the issuing bank by depositing a certain amount of money.

However, before applying for one, you should compare different offers and features in this highly competitive market. Compare credit card offers and credit card application requirements. Read professionally written credit card reviews that detail the benefits and terms of each card. Comparing interest rates, annual fees, introductory offers and special benefits is easy.

OfferCreditCards.net is a FREE online service that allows you to quickly and easily search and compare the best credit card offers from top card issuers. Instant approvals and best credit card rates are now at your fingertips. Instant approval cards are my favorite since you don’t have to wait for approval in the mail. Most of the time you’ll even know your credit limit and often have a temporary card number you can begin using right away.

Want To Buy A Dead Skunk?

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

A recent survey showed that 30 percent of all adults say they are likely to sell their personal or household items over the next three months to earn extra cash.

If you are one of that 30%, then the first question you have to ask yourself is where and how are you going to sell your items. Your first thought might be to hold a garage sale or place a local classified ad, but don’t act too hastily.

If your goal is to make the most money you can from selling your gently used, second hand goods rather than just clear out the garage, then you should consider an online auction.

Online auction websites are becoming an increasingly popular source for many people to buy and sell second hand items.

In fact, some people make a nice extra income buying used goods and other items that are in good shape from garage sales, reclaim yards, scrap yards and wherever else they can think of and then turning around and selling for a profit using one or more online auction sites.

Online auctions are a great way to bid on products from around the world including, cars, electronics, boats, fishing equipment, trucks, real estate, home audio, horses, jewelry, the list goes on forever. You name it, you can find it online at an auction site.

Of course, there is always eBay with a variety of products available ranging from real property to baseball cards. However, whether you are a potential buyer or seller, make sure you check out the alternative auction websites where many discover a better over-all experience for both buyers and sellers.

There are online auction marketplace for high value assets like jewelry, real estate, collectibles, cars, car parts and accessories and more. Auctions are a great alternative shopping method as you may find an excellent deal on something you’ve always wanted. Savvy buyers search product listings to find desired products and valuable discounts.

Once you go online to one of the auction sites, visitors can browse through hundreds of categories and subcategories looking for items of interest. Sellers post items for sale at auction and buyers (called bidders) place their maximum bids. Then the fun begins, watching to see what people are buying and how fast certain tickets and packages are snapped up.

One of the more interesting alternative online auction websites is TheDeadSkunk.com where you will find a unique community of local, national, and international auction enthusiast buying, selling, and swapping items. They also have a section where buyers can place items wanted ads which makes it easy for buyers and sellers to make a connection. This allows sellers to bid for the buyer, which is a unique twist on the usual auction format.

Unlike many auction sites, the auction at TheDeadSkunk.com doesn’t really begin until the first bid has been placed. That is an important feature for sellers and actually benefits buyers as well because other auction sites start the countdown on a listing as soon as it has been posted. By starting the countdown with the first bid the chances of buyers and sellers getting together and completing a fair transaction are greatly increased.

Next time that you are wanting to buy or sell gently used items, make sure you include a couple of the more unique online auctions in your plans. You might be pleasantly surprised at the outcome.

Enter the Realm of the 7 Rays of Light

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

From the beginning of human history there has existed a mystical and magical world that many people inhabit daily and yet others have never heard of before, or have only heard mentioned briefly as part of a fairy tale when a young child.

It is a world filled with Djinns (Jinns), Khodams, Dragons, Phoenix, Vampires, Fairies, Unicorns, Elf’s, and magical spells.

Jinns are beings much like humans, possessing the ability to be good and bad. Khodams are not infallible or all-powerful and they are not genies that would grant one’s every wish or satisfy every whim.

Many purposefully enter this realm seeking the weapons to change the stream of destiny, to secretly fulfill long desired wishes, or searching for healing and well being.

Magical spells must be prepared by the right person so that they will be effective for a long time. Magic items can be enchanted, and include pendants, amulets, marks, crystals, bracers, and rings.

Even though Reiki healing is spiritual, it is not a spiritual movement or an organized religion. It is simply a matter of awareness of Reiki and the expression of it is “Being” Reiki..

Reiki Healing is an ancient Japanese technique for promoting better health through a process of being connected to the Reiki (universal life force energy) that can be harnessed to induce a healing effect and usually administered by physical contact with the hands carried out by a Reiki master.

A Reiki healer comes into more direct connection with this energy through an attunement or empowerment concentrating in recognizing the source of ailment and not just the symptoms. Reiki healing is unique in that the practitioner is never drained by the healing experience.

Attunement into Reiki is a necessary step, as this allows the alignment with the Reiki frequency. With this alignment our energy merges with the Reiki energy and we become a conduit or channel, much like a radio being tuned to a station. Attunement is the process that can be done only by a teacher who is authorized to do so.

Reiki healing is a natural therapy that gently balances life energies bringing health and well-being to the recipient. Reiki is extremely powerful, yet gentle energy that can be easily channeled just by intention to heal. Reiki healing is based on love and cannot harm, only heal.

It is often used to relieve pain caused from medical and environmental conditions. Reiki healing can help with acute and chronic problems and aides the breaking of addictions. Reiki healing is also particularly effective in combating stress, tension, depression, PMS and all forms of emotional trouble.

Treatments can help you cope during times of upheaval and change, and can be done on oneself, others, animals, plants, etc. Reiki treatments can be used for nearly all conditions, with little or no side effects. Treatments are typically very relaxing, and recipients often fall into a lovely drifting state, or actually fall asleep. These states may be accompanied by dreams, floating sensations, warmth, tingling or a general sense of security and peace. Treatment may include dietary modification, herbal preparations, massage, yoga, meditation, and pranayama , or breathing exercises.

Reiki healing is growing in popularity around the Western world. Various researchers have noted a relationship between touch therapy and the reduction of anxiety and pain in the clinical population. Data presented by Ferell-Tory and Glick (1993) suggests the utility of therapeutic touch therapy in order to assist cancer patients while coping with anxiety and pain related to the onset of illness.

A good resource for finding more information on these subjects is located at the 7 Rays of Light.

A Better Way To Use Local Search?

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

You probably do it more now than ever before without even thinking about it. After all, with higher gas prices and more demands on our time, it is only natural that we would do it.

What is “it”? Searching for products and services online but using a geographical component to focus the search, commonly referred to as local search. It makes perfect sense. It saves time and gas, you can comparison shop without walking endless through the malls, or jumping in the car and driving from strip center to strip center.

Local search is a subset of the broader online search, but it is the fastest growing and most responsive segment of how people use search engines. Most of us now go online to find local businesses more often than we use the phone book. Still, it can be a very frustrating experience leaving much to be desired.

Some people only use Craigslist to search locally. But the problem with Craigslist is that it only searches itself.

Wouldn’t it be great if there were even a better way to do local searches?

I think I have recently discovered the better way–it’s called GoGoHub — and it does Multi-Source local searches – getting results from over 100,000 online sites!

GoGoHub is positioning itself to become the new leader in the online classified ad market and is the world’s first local search platform that allows its members to share ad revenues generated by the site. GoGoHub uses Geo-Targeting which makes the search for online classified ads much easier and more targeted to the user’s location.

Search GoGoHub and you can find, buy and sell almost anything locally. Enter the item you want and a zip code and then click local search. GoGoHub is the world’s first local search platform that allows its members to share ad revenues generated by the site.

GoGoHub shares from 10% to 40% of its ad-revenue with the participant in return for a membership charge and promoting the GoGoHub website to their peers.

Anyone can register for Free and posting Free or Featured ads, making you eligible to share in GoGoHub’s ad revenue, literally get a Piece of the Pie (PoP). A portion of ad revenues go into a big pool every month. And everyone, even those using for free, will get their share of the pool! There’s even a level that will allow you to make as much as $10,000 over and over, as many times as you choose.

When you share GoGoHub with others you can earn additional Pops.

One Man’s Trash…Waste Management Is Big Business

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

Most people never give waste management a thought beyond the time it takes them carry their trash bags to street curb. But for many businesses and government agencies, waste management is serious business.

In a nutshell, waste management is the industry which revolves around the collection, storage, and disposal of waste, ranging from ordinary household waste to the waste generated at nuclear power plants. Developing effective waste management strategies is critical for many businesses and agencies of all sizes because waste can develop into a major problem when not handled properly.

Waste management is a necessary part of risk management. Trash compaction helps to minimize risks by reducing the possibility of fire through removing combustible loose waste, keeping floors free from waste materials that might cause a person to slip, trip or fall, and yields a corresponding number of financial and other benefits.

Waste management is also a part of property maintenance. Sorting of waste at the source is becoming more common due to financial reasons as well as government regulations. It is more expensive to process landfill waste, and authorities are demanding more precise sorting.

Proper waste management often requires the use of specialized equipment.

Waste management and recycling equipment includes custom commercial and industrial balers and compactors, vertical balers, trash compactors, drum crushers, cardboard balers, apartment compactors, multi-bin . Waste materials that will not be recycled are often compacted. This reduces the size of landfills.

Recycling facility managers need horizontal balers for a variety of needs. Whether it’s balers for paper, balers for plastics, cardboard balers, waste balers, or a baler to bale textiles or Styrofoam.

Cardboard balers are also commonly found in municipal recycling facilities. A good cardboard baler can compact 20 pounds of cardboard into one cubic foot.

Cardboard balers are generally not used for plastic recycling, however, because they are much too large for the volume of plastic that is dealt with. Cardboard balers are frequently designed to form forty-eight inch tall bales (typically cardboard makes up more than 25 percent of trash generated), and they add profit to the bottom line. Cardboard often can be resold to recyclers or haulers, so installing a baler can produce revenue year after year. Cardboard balers can be vertical or horizontal.

The vertical cardboard baler is initially cheaper to purchase and install. Vertical balers have a front door that opens so that the bale can be tied off manually and removed. Some models have slots in the door so that the bale can be tied off without compromising the integrity of the bale. Vertical balers take up take up less floor space than horizontal balers and are generally used in smaller facilities that produce low amounts of waste and deal with scrap that is light in density and in volume.

Typical scrap materials that vertical balers process include old corrugated cartons, shrink wrap, non-ferrous scrap, textiles, plastic bottles and aluminum cans, with benefits in industries including health care, education, industrial manufacturing, food services and commercial.

Trash compactors can handle most waste materials safely, such as plastic, cardboard boxes, corrugated paper and general trash. However, exceptions exist and include aerosol cans, oily rags, flammable or explosive materials and poisonous materials.

So you see, there really is a basis for the old adage, “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.”

Portability equals flexibility, but alas this hasn’t always been the case. Today’s ultra portable laptop computers have a come along way since the bulky, sewing machine sized machines of the late seventies and early eighties. Portability is one of the main reasons to get a laptop, but regardless they come in all shapes and sizes, including huge desktop replacement models. What defines an ultra portable laptop is of course its size and weight; the screen should be no larger than 13.3 inches and the weight no more than four pounds. Portability and good performance make laptop PCs an essential part of the daily lives of millions of people, from college students to business travelers. Even the least-expensive of today’s laptops are well equipped for everyday work. To compare prices, features, and special offers on new computers, you will want to visit XtremePCShop.com today!

Basic Tips For Taking Care Of And Training Your Dog

Monday, January 18th, 2010

Taking care of your dog is a huge responsibility, but it is your responsibility as a dog owner. For most of us our pets are an important member of the family. One of the best ways of loving your pets is to take good care of them.

Most dog owners experience the unconditional love, loyalty, and companionship that they show us on a daily basis, sometimes it seems much more than members of our own family.

Proper care for such a loyal friend includes providing nutritional dog food, grooming, exercise, and training.

Dog food nutrition is critical to our pets health. Dogs, just like humans, need good nutrition not just to survive but to truly be healthy. They need good quality protein, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, and fats. There are so many commercially available dog foods to choose from that making the right decision can be somewhat daunting.

Dry dog food should be added to their diet; making sure you don’t give them too much, this will depend on the size of your dog. A small dog would only require one small handful per day. Dry foods are a blended mixture of grains, meat, meat by-products, fats, mineral and vitamins and average of 90% dry matter and 10% water. Choosing dry food will give your dog less tartar build up and less gum disease.

Grooming your dog includes keeping their coat, skin, nails, teeth, eyes and even ears clean and healthy. Grooming your dog offers an ideal opportunity to also check for any lumps or scabs which may have developed since last time. Many dogs do not visibly need grooming on a regular basis except when they are shedding their coat. Grooming your dog will also allow you to check for any problems such as fleas, ticks, psoriasis, and signs of other irritations. You will be able to check for other unusual coat problems such as mats, tangles, and dandruff.

Grooming your dog can also be a good way to bond with your dog, and it’s important to get him used to it from an early age. Many dogs learn to see their routine brushing as an alternate petting, another source of affection and attention.

Grooming your dog should be fun for both of you. If you make it a chore, neither of you will want to take part. Grooming is much easier when you have the right grooming supplies.

Brush your dog at least once a week to remove dirt and dead hair. Long coated breeds need daily brushing, plus a regular trip to the groomer. Brush small sections at a time using a wire slicker brush. Use a rubber or nylon bristled brush to avoid irritating its skin. Brush the coat of your dog on a regular basis, to remove dirt. Brushing also spreads the natural oils throughout the coat, apart from detangling the hair and keeping the skin clean and free of irritation. Brush your dog’s coat out thoroughly. Make sure to remove all the tangles, mats, and snarls.

Brushing your dog’s teeth once or twice a week will help keep teeth clean and breath fresh.

Bathing shouldn’t occur more often than once per month, because it can remove essential oils that keep your dog’s skin healthy. Often, a good brushing is enough to remove dirt, but a bath can be necessary when your dog finds something smelly to roll in. Bathing too often can remove natural oils, making your dog’s coat and skin too dry. Be sure to brush your dog first, removing all mats and tangles. Bathing requirements for a long haired breed is weekly to monthly depending on the level of activity, and how dirty they get. Where as a short haired breed can go monthly, or more.

Bathe the legs and face. Baths are fun – at least that’s the message she should understand. Get the right dog shampoo; human shampoo is too harsh, no matter how mild.

Clipper blades can become extremely hot, especially when you use them for a long time. If you burn your dog, she won’t soon forget and will decide that clippers are no fun. Clipping a nail too short can be painful and may cause bleeding. Frequent trimming of a small amount of nail always is better than waiting until the nail is long. Clipping your dog’s nails is important—long nails can really hamper his ability to get around. You should trim your pet’s nails about once per month.

Ears should be checked – droop ears are inclined to infection which can lead to permanent hearing loss. Examine your companion’s pads – dirt, grime, pebbles, chemicals can get caught that can infect his paws. Ears may also require cleaning, especially in dogs with oily skin or allergies. This is a delicate task and is probably best left to your vet.

Trim the hair inside the ears. Apply an ear cleaning solution to a cotton swab and clean the outer part of the dog’s ear. Trimming it might head off ear infections. Do not stick cotton-tipped swabs in their ears because you can rupture a dog’s ear drum very easily.

Training your dog is worth the effort. However, before you start, there are some things you need to know so that each training session is less difficult and far more pleasant for both you and your dog.

The first thing to remember is that you are the boss! By nature dogs are pack animals and hold fast to a strict hierarchy of who is the “leader” of the pack. In order to train your dog properly (and easily), you want to establish yourself as the leader early on in your relationship.

Another point to be aware of is that, while your dog understands you at about the similar level as a two year old, he is not a human. In fact, your dog has a lot of differences from humans that cause him to interpret your commands and act significantly differently than a 2 year old kid would. So, do not expect him to behave like your 2 year old during training.

When training your dog you need to be consistent. Every day allow 30-45 minutes for each session. You can begin teaching your dog as young as you want, but don’t neglect your older pet because dogs of any age will benefit from training.

Begin teaching your dog the basic sit command because it is the basis for various other commands. Work on this one command every day until your dog responds quickly and willingly, then go on to the next command.

During training, you want to be firm. Always use the similar word for each command and say the word clearly. Never punish your dog when he does not do what you want but, instead, use positive reinforcement when he DOES do what you want. Punishing or scolding will only confuse your dog so show patience when he is not behaving the way you want. Simply ignore him and he will soon learn that he only gets the reward when he performs the desired action.
